The Covington Arts Council will feature eight local artists in a recital at 2 p.m. on Sun., June 9.

CAC executive director Paula Harr said the event is designed to showcase local talent and as a fundraiser for next year’s CAC season.

Vocalists include Paula Sue Duebelt, Monica Barton, and Savannah Ricks. Instrumentalists will be Demetrius Scott, Lynn Twitty, Johnny Brewer and John Beasley and John David Thompson.

There also will be a visual art show in the lobby featuring the work of Roger Powell, Carol Phillips, Jo Kelley, Lauren Powell, Virginia Dowling and Tara Dalton.

Ben Bowden will serve as emcee.

Tickets are $12, and are available in advance from Ansley Place, Brooks Hardware and Harolds. The event will be held in the Dixon Center for the Performing Arts on the campus of LBW Community College in Andalusia. Tickets also will be available at the door.
