DONNIE CARPENTER

Donnie Carpenter, 49, of Andalusia, passed away on June 13, 2013, in a local hospital.

A private service was held by Keahey Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Dianna Carpenter of Andalusia; mother, Barbara Morris of Oregon; brothers, Gerald Miller Jr. of Mossy Head, Fla, and John Powell; and sisters, Sherry Ferris of Defuniak Springs, Fla., Susan McAdams of Oregon and Brenda Paulson.

OLLIE MAE MCVAY

Ollie Mae McVay, 77, of Andalusia, passed away on Sun., June 16, 2013, in the Andalusia hospital.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., today, Tues., June 18, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Frankie McVay officiating and interment following in Zion Hill Cemetery.

Survivors include her daughter, Donna Smith of Andalusia; her sons, Levon McVay of Brantley and Johnny McVay of Andalusia; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Waymer Smith of Opp.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jim McVay; daughter, Gail McVay; and great-grandson, Tyler McVay.

Pallbearers will be Sandy McVay, Bobo McVay, David McVay, Rudon Ballard, Chris Canant and Marvin McGinnis.

BETTY JEAN COONE LUCAS

Betty Jean Coone Lucas, 84, a native and lifelong resident of Andalusia, passed away on Sun., June 16, 2013, at her home.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Andalusia and a member of numerous civic organizations.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., on Wed., June 19, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Herb Carlisle officiating and interment following in Magnolia Cemetery.

Visitation will be at Foreman Funeral Home tonight from 5-7.

She will forever be remembered by her son and daughter-in-law, David Gene and Paula Lucas of Huntsville; her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara Lucas and Harold Clark of Spanish Fort; her grandchildren, David Gerald (Lauren) Lucas II, Adrienne Blaire Lucas, Robert Adam Tyler Lucas and Samantha Tyane Clark; her great-grandchildren, David Griffin Lucas and Evelyn Vesper Lucas; and countless other friends and family whom were blessed to know her.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, David Gerald Lucas; mother, Jessie Lee Pugh Fraser and brother, Billy Joe Coone.

The family wishes to express appreciation for the loving and passionate care provided by Jean Norris, Shirley Harris, and the nurses and staff of Comfort Care Hospice of Andalusia.

Pallbearers will be David Lucas II, Adam Lucas, Robert Bedsole, Robert Savell and Dallas Merritt.

Grady Edward Barnes Jr., 62, of Andalusia, passed away Thurs., June 13, 2013, at his residence.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Sun., June 16, from Mill Creek Baptist Church with Brother Larry Turman officiating and interment following in River Falls Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Davis Barnes of Andalusia; his mother, Ola Belle Barnes of Andalusia; his daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Steve Holland of Wisconsin, Jennifer and Chris Echols of Andalusia and Kimberly and Van Childs of Dothan; his son, Harold Barnes of River Falls; his son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Amanda Barnes; stepson and daughter-in-law, Brandon and Janie Short; stepdaughters and sons-in-law, Amy and Daniel Palmer and Lauren and Josh Gibson; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
