Melissa Danielle Gantt Mitchell, 29, of Opp, died Wed., July 3, 2013, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., today, Sat., July 6, at Foreman Brown-Service Funeral Home with Minister Trey Poole officiating. Interment will follow at Andalusia Memorial Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, Shaun Mitchell of Opp; two daughters, Katelyn Danielle Mitchell and Miley Elizabeth Mitchell; father and stepmother, Philip and Tina Gantt of Andalusia; mother, Jerri Dauphin of Andalusia; sister, Chandlar Dauphin; stepsister, Lori Grimes Odom; stepbrother, Allen (Sonji) Grimes, all of Andalusia; maternal grandmother, Paula Tillman; in-laws, Micky and Dee Mitchell of Opp; grandparents-in-law, Lloyd Gene Carter of Andalusia and James and Evelyn Mitchell of Opp; great-grandparent-in-law, Lille V. Carter of Babbie; brothers and sister-in-law, Michael and Tamara Bush of Opp and Derek Mitchell of Opp.

Pallbearers will be Garrett Cross, Parker Malone, Justin Gantt, Allen Grimes, Seth Stewart, and Dustin Dyess.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials made to Katelyn and Miley Mitchell college education fund c/o Southern Independent Bank.

Visitation will be after noon today at Foreman Funeral Home.

 

George S. Lamont Sr.

George S. Lamont, Sr., of Lowndesville, S.C., formerly of the Andalusia area, passed away June 13, 2013, at his residence.

Memorial graveside services will be at 2 p.m., today, Sat., June 6, at New Home Cemetery, with Pastor Robert Canant officiating the service. Visitation with the family will be at the cemetery.

He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, George Stewart and Sandy Lamont Jr. of Augusta, Ga., Stephen and Carolyn Lamont of Montevall and John and Andrea Lamont of Iva, S.C.; his daughters and sons-in-law, Rosalyn Menchew of Iva, S.C., Elisabeth and Joe Reed of Milwaukee, Wisc., Melissa Manley (Peter Escalera) of Tupelo, Miss.,and Juliet and Morgan Riley of Andalusia; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren, including a very special granddaughter, Danielle Lamont.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Nell Lamont; his son, Shannon Lamont; and grandson, Chris Lamont.

Cornelia Wynette Wynne, 64, of Pensacola, Fla., formerly of Rutledge, passed away July 3, 2013, at her residence.

Memorial graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Mon., July 8, at Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be at the Free Will Baptist Church one hour prior to service.

She is survived by her husband, Frank M. Wynne of Selma; two sons, Bill Palmer of Foley and Mike (Charlotte) Palmer of Prattville; two daughters, Jennifer (Floyd) Riley of Pensacola, Fla., and Tiffany (Tim) Ford of Vance; brother, Tim (Rexanna) Edwards of Toney; and three sisters, Joby (Tony) Norris of Grand Bay, Thelma (George) Toole of Prattville and Susie Edwards of Point Royal, Wash.
