Covington County took Onondaga, N.Y.’s 2-0 lead in the bottom of the third inning and answered with a four-run inning, sparking the host team to a 6-5 victory Monday night at the 2013 Babe Ruth Baseball 16-18 World Series in Red Level.

The host dam was playing in its last pool play and tournament game against the No. 1 seeded team out of the American Division.

Since Covington County allowed too many points in its four games of pool play, it doesn’t advance to today’s start of bracket play.

However, that didn’t keep county from playing its butts off on the diamond against a quality team.

Complete coverage of Monday night’s win, along with the Mobile Rawdogs’ 11-0 victory over Cape Cod, Mass., will be in Wednesday’s edition of the newspaper.
