Red Level is aiming to improve every day and in every volleyball match this season, Lady Tigers coach Gail Lee said.

RLS, team wise, only has six girls who have played the sport on its varsity and junior varsity squads.

Returning players from last year’s squad include Katelyn Vickrey, Katie Williamson, Stormy Richards and Kendra Hall, who are sophomores.

The Lady Tigers have two seniors who are a set of twins in Tori and Katy McCleskey.

“We just look to improve at every practice,” Lee said.

A big adjustment for Red Level this season has been its service game.

Lee said the girls are no longer serving the ball “under hand.”

“They’ve done really well (with the change),” she said. “One of my younger girls has never done anything but under hand.”

Red Level is in Class 1A, Area 3 this season with Brantley and Georgiana. The Lady Tigers finished as the area runner ups last year, advancing to the super regional in Montgomery.

The only goal Lee has set for the girls is to see the girls improve every day.

“I can’t ask anymore of them with all of the younger girls I have,” she said. “I always tell them that as long as you play out there 100 percent with a positive attitude, then you win in my book.”

Red Level opens its season at Pleasant Home tomorrow night.
