Searching for Barrow, Feaster relatives

Dear Editor:

In October, I will be doing a presentation at the Covington Historical Society meeting on Tracking Your Roots With DNA.

In preparation for this I am seeking participants interested in DNA testing from two of Covington county’s families: Feaster and Barrow. As the presentation involves what is termed autosomal DNA (atDNA) testing which is most effective for five to six generations of ancestry, I am specifically seeking a descendant of Jake Feaster (1852-1929) buried in Magnolia cemetery in Andalusia, and of James Madison Barrow (1835-1892) buried in Long Branch cemetery in Cohasset whose father John Gray Barrow is also interred in Magnolia cemetery.

The tests will be free of charge. Anyone who is or knows of a descendant of either, may contact me in advance regarding testing at 13719 Grosvenor St., Houston, TX 77034 (eMail-trackingyourroots@gmail.com) or alternately, at the presentation Oct. 31 at 7 p.m. at the library on South Three Notch.

Thank you!
