Pleasant Home’s Lady Eagles swept Florala 3-0 in area action Tuesday night.

After winning the first set 25-14, PHS started set two on a 7-0 run en route to a 25-11 and 2-0 advantage.

Florala, who has a fairly young volleyball program, played a good match, getting volleys at the right time.

Pleasant Home would then go on a 10-0 run to start the third set and win 25-12.

PHS coach Jerry Davis said Florala looked “much improved.”

“We had a good day,” Davis said about his bunch. “We’re not real consistent right now. We’ve got a lot of young girls.”

The Lady Eagles improve to 8-2 overall, and 1-0 in Class 1A, Area 2 play.

PHS travels to Kinston in area action on Thursday.

In other volleyball action Tuesday night, the Lady Bulldogs of Andalusia went 1-2 against Providence Christian and Dauphin.

Andalusia’s junior varsity squad lost 24-26, 20-25 to Dauphin, but beat Providence 25-21, 20-25, 15-13.

The Lady Bulldogs’ varsity team lost 13-25, 12-25, 14-25 to Providence.

Alex Lawrence had four kills, and Haley Harper added five assists to lead AHS.

Andalusia hosts rival Opp Thursday night, starting with the junior high group at 4 p.m.
