Opp had a really good experience Saturday as the Lady Bobcats played in a Providence Christian volleyball tournament in Dothan.

OHS finished the tournament 1-2 with its only win coming against Bay High School, out of Panama City, Fla.

“It was a good experience to play in the tournament,” Lady Bobcats volleyball coach Christie Spurlin said. “We’ve played Providence before. The Auburn team was a team we didn’t see before. We just used this to get ready for our area tournament.”

OHS fell to Providence Christian 17-25, 16-25 in the first match of the day. The Lady Bobcats then beat BHS 25-13, 25-15, before falling to Auburn 25-23, 12-25, 10-15.

The Lady Bobcats are now 20-5 on the season heading into a regular season contest today against Kinston at home. Action starts at 4 p.m. with the junior high school bunch. The junior varsity squad will then play and the night cap will see the varsity girls play.
