An Opp woman has been indicted by the Covington County grand jury for 27 counts of possession of a forged instrument.

Jail records show Kristian M. Scronce, 28, is being held on a $385,000 bond for the alleged crimes.

Court records show that Scronce pleaded guilty in September to five counts of possession of a forged instrument II after she wrote checks totaling $280 at two area country stores.

Those court documents show that the victim in the case reported Scronce obtained the checks from inside his pickup truck that his son was using while he underwent rehabilitative physical therapy in a nursing home.

It is unknown if the two cases are related, as no further information was available from the circuit clerk’s office Wednesday.
