Robert Leon “Hippagator” Lawson, 66, of Babbie, died Mon., Oct. 22, 2013.

BERNICE GILMORE HUGHES

Bernice Gilmore Hughes, 97, passed away peacefully on Sat., Oct. 19, 2013, at Andalusia Regional Hospital.

Funeral services will be held today, Wed., Oct. 23, at 2 p.m., at Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery with Brother Sonny Steele officiating. Special music will be provided by Mary Ann Bullard.

Mrs. Hughes and her husband were the owners of the Fish Bowl Restaurant on Gantt Lake. She was also employed by Church’s Chicken for many years. She loved God, her family, fishing, flowers and her view on Gantt Lake. She had a very special friend and neighbor, Richard Wheeler, whom she loved dearly.

Hughes is survived by her daughters, Paula Bullock Walden of Gantt and Bettye Johns of Sturgis, Miss.; two grandchildren, Mike Bullock and Jeff Morrow; and six great-grandchildren, Andrew Bullock, Taylor Bullock, Autumn Bullock, Ben Maxwell, Ashton Morrow and Dariean Morrow.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rueben and Mack Gilmore and Alma Pittman Gilmore; two brothers, Mack Gilmore and Rusty Gilmore; and her husband, Randle Hughes.

Pallbearers will be Andrew Bullock, Ben Maxwell, Butch Gilmore, Leonard Lemerau, Richard Wheeler and Richard Gobles.
