Junior halfback Jon Cole Chesser rushed for 172 yards on 18 carries and scored four touchdowns Friday night at Uriah to help lead Pleasant Home to a season-ending 45-12 victory.

Chesser had touchdown runs of 4, 5, 9 and 46 yards for the Eagles. Austin Harrington, another sophomore halfback, added 70 yards on eight rushes and caught a pass for 51 yards. Reid Adams rushed eight times for 59 yards and a touchdown on a 5-yard run. Carl Whitehurst, another sophomore, carried the ball 11 times for 48 yards.

Blacksher took a 6-0 lead on the game’s first possession when quarterback Travouris Hill completed a 32-yard pass to Trent Robbins with 8:43 left in the first quarter. The conversion attempt failed.

PHS answered with a 4-yard touchdown run by Chesser with 4:47 left in the opening period. The extra-point kick was good.

Blacksher retook the lead on the last play of the first quarter when Robbins returned an interception 75 yards for a score. Once again, the conversion attempt failed.

Hill’s 5-yard run and Harrington’s 51-yard pass helped give PHS a 14-12 lead 9:17 left in the first half.

Chesser got his second touchdown on a 5-yard run with 3:45 left in the first half; and added his third score on a 9-yard run with 15 seconds left. PHS had a 26-12 lead.

Chesser scored from 46 yards with 11:05 left in the third quarter for his fourth TD. Quarterback Garrett Barton got the Eagles’ next score on a 5-yard run with 6:59 left in the third.

After covering a fumble at their 2, the Eagles put together a 9-play, 98-yard scoring drive that Troy Fantroy capped on a 25-yard run with 10:02 left in the game.

PHS finished with 424 totals yards and 20 first downs, while holding Blacksher’s Bulldogs to 189 total yards.
