Four local athletes were nominated as honorable mentions on the Alabama Sport Writers Association’s All-State Football Team.

The athletes who received honorable mention nods are Andalusia’s Montel at linebacker on the Class 4A team; Straughn’s Johnny Owens at linebacker on the Class 3A team; and Florala’s Austin West at running back and Blake Donaldson at linebacker on the Class 1A team.

Lee compiled 96 (61 solos, 35 assists) total tackles during his senior season. He had eight tackles for a loss, and eight sacks.

Owens racked up 162 total tackles for the Tigers.

West rushed for 1,044 yards on 151 carries and scored 15 touchdowns for the Wildcats during his junior season. He also had 102 yards in receiving and one touchdown.

Donaldson compiled 140 tackles (78 solo, 62 assists) for his junior season.
