Andalusia Ballet dancers Emmy Ellyn Rabren and Lindsey Stephens were among the dancers performing as American All-Stars in pre-game festivities at the Capital One Bowl in Orlando.

The dancers were chosen to participate during a Universal Dance Association camp early last summer, and their participation launched a girls trip to Orlando.

The two dancers and their moms, Shannon Stephens and Kim Rabren, traveled to Orlando last Sunday. The girls began rehearsing Monday morning. They previously had received a DVD of the routine to learn, as well as a uniform and pom-poms.

“We didn’t even start on that until after Nutcracker,” Mrs. Stephens said.

The dancers also rehearsed on Tuesday, and on Wednesday, they were on a bus at 8 a.m. to practice on the actual field.

Their package included four days at Disney, so the group spent Monday afternoon in Animal Kingdom, Tuesday afternoon in Hollywood Studios, and New Year’s Eve at Epcot.

“With just a million of our closest friends,” one of them joked. Earlier this week, Disney turned away guests at the Magic Kingdom park, as it was at capacity.

“One of the most exciting things for Emmy was Hunter Hayes, the country music singer, was in the half-time show,” Mrs. Rabren said. “We didn’t get to meet him, But, of course we got to watch it, so that was unexpected fun.”
