PHS girls win, boys fall; FHS teams lose

Pleasant Home’s Brianna Dozier had a double double in the Lady Eagles’ 39-21 victory over Laurel Hill on Saturday on the second day of the Alabama-Florida Shootout at PHS.

Dozier had 13 points and 10 rebounds, while Jade Self had nine points for the Lady Eagles (9-5).

In boys action, the Eagles lost 67-35 to the Hoboes.

Troy Fantroy led PHS with 10 points.

Florala boys coach Troy Stewart said despite a 42-34 loss to Baker, he believes the game was a “turning point” for the team.

“For me to only have six guys, they played their hearts out,” Stewart said. “That’s what I wanted to see coming into area play.”

Khalen Ball led FHS with 12 points.

In girls action, the Lady Wildcats didn’t fare to well in a 52-39 loss to the Lady Gators.

FHS finished 8-for-26 from the free throw line.

Shay Brooks led all FHS scorers with 14 points

The Eagles are back in action today at home when they start Class 1A, Area 2 play against Kinston. The Wildcats are at home today against Geneva County.

B-team tip off for both teams is at 4:30 p.m.
