There are already more than 200 runners and walkers registered for this year’s Cancer Freeze 5K, set for 9 a.m. this Sat., Feb. 1, at Lake Jackson State Park.

That is just shy of the 230 who participated in the 2013 event, and the 252 in the first event in 2012.

First place is awarded to the male and female in each age category.

Age divisions for runners and walkers are: 0-14, 15-19, 20-24,25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, and 70 and up.

The course, which circles Lake Jackson, is the same as June’s Alligator Trot, is USAFT.
