Trotters, Alligator race is June 21

The 19th annual Alligator Trot 5K Road Race and Walk will be held Sat., June 21, at Florala State Park.

The 5K is the only race running in two states in conjunction with the 144th Masonic Celebration. The race begins at 8 a.m.

Race packet pick up lasts from 6:30 until 7:45 a.m.

The course is asphalt and USATF certified.

The trot begins in Alabama at the intersection of Third Avenue and Third Street. Runners proceed around Lake Jackson into Florida and back into Alabama, finishing at 23089 Lake Shore Blvd.

Awards will be given for first overall male and female; male and female masters (40+); male and female grandmasters (50+); male and female senior grandmasters (60+); and male and female great grandmasters (70+).

Anyone of any age is welcome to enter.

Walkers awards will be given for the first overall male and female. The same age categories apply for the walkers.

Race day registration is from 6:30 until 7:45 a.m. Cost is $25. Those who want a T-shirt need to preregister for the race.
