ALBERT PITTS

Albert C. “Hoggie” Pitts, 81, of River Falls, passed away Sat., March 8, 2014.

Pitts was a member of River Falls Baptist Church, where he served as deacon for 40 years. He was involved with many activities, including being a Mason and a Shriner. He was a commercial painter for more than 60 years, involved with Covington County Cattlemen’s Association and was also a cattleman and hay farmer.

Funeral services were held Tues., March 11, at River Falls Baptist Church with the Rev. Carl Douglas and the Rev. Harold Morris officiating. Interment followed in River Falls Cemetery.

Pitts is survived by his wife of 60 years, Anne Pitts of River Falls; daughters, Leah (Ron) Doyle of Waverly Hall, Ga. and Missy (Philip) Dembowski of Loxley; grandchildren, Patrick, Mitchell, Joanna and Rory Dembowski; brother, Dan (Gaynelle) Pitts of Fort Payne.

Pallbearers were Danny Killingsworth, Chris Cook, Jeremy Cook, Larry Gunter, Mark Gunter, Ronnie Capps, Mitchell Dembowski and Patrick Dembowski.

Honorary pallbearers were the deacons of River Falls Baptist Church.

ALICE HOOD

Alice Runette Hood, 81, of Andalusia, passed away Sun., March 9, 2014, at Andalusia Manor.

Graveside services will be at Thurs., March 13, at 10 a.m. at Andalusia Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Tim Trent officiating and Foreman Funeral Home directing. Visitation with the family will be at the cemetery.

Hood is survived by her daughters, Aletha (Dave) O’Quinn of Baton Rouge, La. And Claire (Dirk) Price of Red Level; Harvey Hood of Plant City, Fla. and Emmett (Laurie) Hood of Denham Springs, La.; three grandchildren, Ben and Blake Hood and Emily O’Quinn; and great- grandchild, Beckham Hood.

ILA LEE INABINETT

Ila Lee Inabinett, 101, of Dozier, died Tues., March 11, 2014, in a local nursing facility.

Funeral services will be held Thurs., March 13 at 2 p.m. at Macedonia Methodist Church with Bro. Doug Golden officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the service.

Inabinett is survived by her son, Mike (Mary) Inabinett; sister Irene Hodge; grandchildren, Todd Inabinett, Sandra Inabinett and Nikki Inabinett; great-grandchildren, Kayla Inabinett and Dallas Inabinett.

MARY ANDERSON
Mary Frances Owens Anderson, 93, a resident of PineApple, passed away Wed., March 5, 2014. Funeral services were held Sat., March 8, at 3 p.m. from the Jenkins Chapel Methodist Church with the Rev. Willie Crawford and the Rev. J.W. Land officiating. Burial followed in church cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home of Georgiana directed arrangements.
Anderson was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Ziba D. Anderson; her parents, Frances Elizabeth Owens and Rufus Kolb Owens; seven siblings; grandson, Gregory Lewis Oakley III; son-in-law, Johnny Hines; and special sister-in-law, Louise Brantley Owens.
She is survived by daughters, Frances Elaine (Jim) Lenga of Auburn, Charlene Hines of Beatrice, Linda (David) Pearson of Cullman and Margaret (Mike) Brown of Beatrice; son, Ziba McGowin (Pennye) Anderson of Andalusia; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
