Andalusia put together an aggressive attack throughout the entire soccer match as the Bulldogs defeated Carroll-Ozark 2-1 on the road Monday night.

The good guys led 1-0 at halftime, but the Eagles bounced back in the second as a long cross found its way in the backside of the net.

Throughout the entire game, the players didn’t let up their intensity, AHS coach Tim Ramsden said.

“It was a very good win,” Ramsden said. “That was the most aggressive game they’ve played (this season). Carroll’s a big, physical team and we played as physical, if not more. We deserved that win.”

Andalusia’s Wain Yongkuma scored the game-winning goal after a couple of scrambles from the corner.

Yongkuma headed the ball in with about 25 seconds left in the game.

In the first half, the Bulldogs got on the board on a nice James Albritton shot.

“Really, as a team, everybody played with a lot of intensity,” Ramsden said.

Highlights from the win include eighth grader Michael Taylor’s performance; Trey Ossenfort’s play at mid field; Kiki Wain, Zach Parker and Jaxon Rudolph’s performances.

Andalusia (3-8) will be back in action on Friday in Troy at Charles Henderson.

In other spring sports action Monday night, Red Level lost 8-4 to to McKenzie in baseball; Straughn lost 10-8 to T.R. Miller in baseball; Andalusia’s boys and girls defeated Charles Henderson 9-0, 8-1, respectively, in tennis; and Florala lost 5-3 to Rocky Bayou, Fla.
