SARRAH TURNER

Sarrah Turner, of Stockbridge, Ga., passed away quietly in her sleep March 29, 2014, at her home. She was born in Birmingham on November 29, 1920, to Charlotte Stokes Watson and Isaac Watson.

Turner was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, William R. Turner, and sons, Bill Turner and Michael Turner.

Turner was a life-long member of All Saint’s Episcopal Church in Atlanta, and a member of Daughters of the King. She enjoyed gardening and reading. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels in Stockbridge, and as a mother of five, she was also a cook, chauffeur, councilor, and part-time referee.

She is survived by her daughter, Martha (Mike) Podobnikar; son, Terry (Bonnie) Turner; daughter, Charlene Turner; grandchildren, Kevin Turner, Bill Martin, Lindsey Turner, Kathy Turner Goodstein and Annie Turner; and great-grandson, Kevin Goodstein.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice. A memorial service will be held Thurs., April 3, at 11 a.m. at All Saint’s Episcopal Church, 634 W Peachtree St. NW Atlanta GA, 30308. Wages and Sons Stone Mountain Chapel.
