Opening days for both Andalusia and Opp rec leagues were held Saturday in Johnson Park in Andalusia and the Opp Sports Complex, and kids of all ages spent the better part of the day playing America’s favorite pastime.

In Andalusia, some very special players got in on the action during the opening day of the city’s Miracle League, a baseball program that gives children with disabilities the chance to enjoy the baseball diamond as well. Acting as the “Angels in the Outfield” this year were members of the LBW Community College softball team, who helped kids with activities from hitting the ball to base running.

Check back soon for an upcoming photo gallery of this year’s opening day festivities.
