WANDA CUMBIE

Wanda Sue Floyd Tillery Cumbie, 46, of Opp, passed away Wed., April 2, 2014, at her residence.

Funeral services were held Mon., April 7, at the Keahey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Simms officiating. Interment will follow today, Tues., April 8, at 11 a.m. in the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home directing.

Cumbie is survived by her father, Q. P. Floyd of Andalusia; mother, Rebecca Sue Henderson of Elmore; sons, John, Joseph, James and Jake Tillery, all of Babbie; brother, David (Amanda) Henderson of Elmore; sisters, Nancy (Robert) Dean of Elmore and Pam (Darren) Wilkinson of Elmore; grandchildren, Jeremy Tillery of Montgomery and John Wesley Holman of Montgomery; step-brother, Mark (Dawn) Henderson of Elmore; and step-sisters, Paula (Donnon) Thompson of Kinston and Elizabeth Mann of Silver Creek, Ga.

NORMA VEASEY

Norma Carlisle Veasey, 99, of Andalusia, died Sun., April 6, 2014, in a local nursing facility. Graveside services will be held Wed., April 9, at 2 p.m. at Veasey Cemetery with the Rev. Billy Boles officiating. Interment will follow at Veasey Cemetery with Foreman Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.

Veasey is survived by her daughter, Reba Baisden of the Straughn community; son, Bruce “Pete” (Shirley) Veasey of Andalusia; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Eddie Davis, Dale Spears, Jeff Davis, Frank Lord, Bradon Veasey and Andrew Veasey.

Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Foreman’s.

The family has requested no flowers.

MAXINE SELLERS

Maxine Garvin Sellers, 88, of Red Level, died Mon., April 7, 2014, in Andalusia Regional Hospital.  Funeral services will be held Wed., April 9, at 11 a.m. at Fairmount Baptist Church with Bro. John Bell officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Sellers was born in Gulfport, Miss. and moved to Red Level at an early age, after the death of her father. She spent her life in Red Level and graduated from Red Level High School.  She worked for 33 years at The People’s Bank of Red Level and retired as vice-president.  She was a dedicated and faithful member of Fairmount Baptist Church up until the time of her death.

Sellers is survived by her son, Jon (Jo Ellen) Sellers of Red Level; daughter, Sharon (Norman) Hobson of Andalusia; six grandchildren, Jeff (Jennifer) Sellers, Hunter (Ali) Hobson, Jason (Erica) Sellers, Joshua (Lucy) Sellers and Mary Elizabeth Hobson; four great-grandchildren, Hannah Sellers, Jacob Sellers, Forest Hobson and Edyn Hobson; and a brother-in-law, Vernon Ingram of Red Level.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh M. Sellers; father, Jesse L. Garvin; mother, Etta Bozeman Mason; brother, James Blair Garvin; sister, Ida Mae Ingram; and great-grandson, Jonathan Harold Sellers.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Sellers, Joshua Sellers, Jason Sellers, Hunter Hobson, Dennis Bond and Billy Sellers.

The body will lie in state from 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Foreman Funeral Home and at the church 30 minutes prior to services.
