Florala jumped up one spot to No. 7 in this week’s Alabama Sports Writers Association baseball poll, which was released today.

The Wildcats improved to 13-2 on the season after claiming a doubleheader and a Class 1A, Area 3 series sweep over Pleasant Home last week.

FHS hosts Brantley on Friday in the first round of the state playoffs.

Opp is still No. 3 in Class 3A after defeating Andalusia 1-0 last week. The Bobcats take on No. 2 Bayside Academy at home in the first round.

Andalusia (18-9) was nominated but not ranked in the Class 4A poll.

In the softball poll, FHS stayed at No. 9 in Class 1A after improving to 11-2 when it defeated Samson 6-1 on Monday night.
