The Lower Alabama Arts Coalition is Roger Powell in its first Lunch with the Artist event set for next Tuesday.

A collection of Powell’s architectural portraits of homes, schools, and public places that have sentimental meaning is currently on display at LAAC. The centerpiece of the show is a new painting that incorporates 40 iconic images of present-day Andalusia, although many of them have to do with the past. Prints of this piece also are available.

Board member Steve Hubbard said this is the first of what LAAC board members hope will become a monthly series. The featured artist will talk about his or her art, and take questions from a limited number of participants.

Tickets are $20, and are available by calling the LAAC at 222-3205.

Lunches are available beginning at 11:30, and the formal portion will last from noon until 1.
