Richard “Rusty” Harmon Walker

Richard “Rusty” Harmon Walker, age 42, of Andalusia passed away on Thurs., May 8, 2014, in Escambia County. Funeral services will be held on Sat., May 10, 2014, at 2 p.m. from Andalusia Church of God with the Rev. Glenn Vaughn, the Rev. Frankie McVay, the Rev. Charlie Walker, and the Rev. Sonny Harmon officiating. Interment will follow in the Andalusia Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Walker is survived by his wife, Amy Walker of Andalusia; his four sons, Jake Walker, Christian Walker, Houston Walker, and Braxton Bozeman, all of Andalusia; his two daughters, Savannah Walker and Alyssa Bozeman, both of Andalusia; his mother, Deborah Walker of Panama City Beach; a brother, Charlie Walker of Panama City Beach; a sister and brother-in-law, Jennie (Patrick) Bruce of Auburn; a maternal grandmother, Esther Harmon of Panama City Beach; a father and mother-in-law, the Rev. Glenn and Louise Vaughn of Andalusia; and a brother and sister-in-law, Shane and Sandra Vaughn of Andalusia.

Pallbearers include Shane Vaughn, Timmy Stacks, Shannon Bryant, Russell McGlamory, Patrick Bruce, and Larry Brown. Honorary pallbearers include Ethan Dorsey, John Dalrimple, Tim Grimes, and Russell Messick.

Visitation will be Friday, May 9, 2014, from 5:30-8 p.m. at Foreman Funeral Home.

Donald Broughton “Don” Gantt, Jr.

Mr. Donald Broughton “Don” Gantt, Jr., age 75, of Gantt passed away on Wed., May 7, 2014, at the Noland Hospital in Dothan.

Funeral services will be held on Sat., May 10, 2014, at 11 a.m. from the Foreman Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. John Eiland officiating. Interment will follow in the Andalusia Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Gantt was born Nov. 18, 1938, in Andalusia. He is the son of the late Donald Broughton Gantt, Sr., and Aldine Wood Gantt of Gantt. He was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church. Mr. Gantt is survived by his wife of 47 years, Barbara Neese Gantt of Gantt; daughter, Donna (John) Shipp of Red Level; son, Donald Broughton (Taylor) Gantt III of Gantt; brother, Robert Joseph (Sally) Gantt of Thomasville, Ga.; granddaughters, Ansley Nicole Shipp and Maecy Cayne Shipp of Red Level; grandsons, Benjamin Broughton Gantt and Kristian Liam Gantt of Gantt; nephews, Robert Jeffery (Barbara) Gantt of Thomasville, Ga., Dennis Joseph (Phyllis) Gantt of Thomasville, Ga., Keith Ashley (Michelle) Gantt of Woodstock, Ga., and William Todd (Tonya) Ballard of Wetumpka; nieces, Deborah Sue (Scott) Dearmon of Mobile, Cynthia Renee (Roger) Smith of Mobile, and Wendy Ballard of Sullivan’s Island, S.C.; and sisters-in-law, Patricia Ballard of Montgomery and Linda (Jerry) Hutcheson of Mobile.

Pallbearers include Jeff Gantt, Dennis Gantt, Keith Gantt, Ben Rudd, Eddie Langford, and David Brawner. Honorary pallbearer is John Rudd.

Visitation will be Fri., May 9, 2014, from 6-8 p.m. at Foreman Funeral Home.

Roy Reeves

Funeral services for Roy Reeves, age 87, of Roanoke will be held on Friday, May 9, 2014, at 11 a.m. from Roanoke First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tex Ergle and the Rev. Ralph Barrow officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at Roanoke First United Methodist from 10-11 a.m. on Fri., May 9.

Mr. Reeves passed away Wed., May 7, 2014, at Wedowee Hospital.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Reeves of Roanoke; two daughters, Sabra (husband, Steve) Burns of Roanoke and Katina (husband, Kem) Walker of Roanoke; four grandchildren, Tia W. Whaley, Seth Walker, Leigh B. Alcorn, and Luke Burns; two great-grandchildren, Lorianna Whaley and Isabella Whaley; one sister, Ruby Hall of Huntsville; and one brother, Coleman Reeves of Murphreesboro, Tenn.

Pallbearers will be Steve Burns, Kem Walker, Seth Walker, Luke Burns, Benji Whaley, and Darrin Alcorn. Honorary pallbearers will be the Roanoke FUMC Men’s Sunday School Class.

An Evergreen, Ala., native and former Andalusia resident, Mr. Reeves was born on Oct. 1, 1926, the son of Thomas and Lillie Griffin Reeves. He was a member of Roanoke First United Methodist Church where he was a trustee, finance chairman, and chairman of the building committee for the Family Life Center. Mr. Reeves was a World War II Navy veteran and worked at SouthTrust Bank where he was president and CEO, and he was also a member of the Rotary Club, Randolph County Hospital Board, Roanoke City School Board, Randolph County Industrial Board and the Treasure Forest Association. Mr. Reeves was preceded in death by his parents and nine brothers and sisters.
