The Covington Raiders fell 14-0 to the Prichard Falcons in the first round of the Amateur to Professional Development Football League (APDFL) playoffs on Sunday.

With the playoffs originally scheduled for this Sunday, the semi-pro league decided to push the postseason start to a week earlier.

The Falcons scored in the second and third quarter.

Prichard entered the game as the No. 1 team in the nation, and Raiders coach Jeffery Williams said that it was going to take quite a feat to beat them.

“We went down there with 17 players and it was a battle the entire game,” Williams said. “I have to take my hat off to my guys. They played hard.”

Williams said that the game was considered to be a “mud” battle for his team’s final contest of the season.
