What do quizzes say about you?

It is interesting to learn more about yourself. Most of my life, at least for as long as I can recall, I’ve wanted to figure things out, look inside and see what’s going on.

That’s probably why I love reading, yoga and meditation. It’s a desire to know myself and by extension know more about the world and the other humans who are alive on the planet with me.

Since, I am this seeker, it is nice to discover that I can learn so much from Facebook. Yep, if you want to know more about yourself and what makes you tick, what type person you are and even what your eye color says about you — well there’s a test for it. There is a test for every darn thing, and I’m a sucker when it comes to taking them.

I’m not sure how the questions they ask and the answers you give lead to the results that pop up, but it’s an interesting experiment. Now, I may not always agree with what the Facebook guru tells me, but I keep taking the darn things every time a friend shares one. And, what have I learned about myself so far. Well yesterday, I discovered that I am unbelievably sweet, you know like a Reese’s Cup, kind of chewy/gooey in the middle and deliciously chocolaty everywhere else.

The test was “What two words best describe you? I don’t remember the questions, but my result was “You’re the perfect treat — delightful and sweet. You have the sweetest smile and the most tender love. Your face can brighten any dark day and your jovial nature can fill even passersby with joy. A great many consider themselves lucky to have you in their lives.”

I’m betting more folks would feel lucky to have me in their lives and I’d fill lots more passersby with joy if I actually were a Reese’s Cup.

Moving on — another day, another test. This one answered that burning question, what is your inner wild cat? Now, I’ve often wondered about my inner wild cat, haven’t you. Again, I don’t remember the exact questions, but folks I am a Cheetah, and this is what that means.

“You’re extremely agile, swift, and even a bit sneaky. You’re quick to change your views and support what you believe to be better and right. Sometimes, you’re too far ahead for others to even catch up. Progress always excites you. It’s fair to say you’re on the highway to enlightenment.”

Well, I wasn’t crazy about being a bit sneaky, but I guess the “highway to enlightenment” thing shouldn’t surprise me since it fits with yet another test I took a few days ago. This one enlightened me on the subject of what type of person I am. According to the results, I’m a saint. (There are surely lots of folks who are laughing as they read those words).

Anyway, the tests don’t lie and here is what it said.

“You are a spiritual person. You find the true meaning of your life to be in your faith and connection with God. You’re going to be reaching some new and challenging spiritual heights, but you will be succeeding to reach your calling! Keep it up.”

By, “Keep it up,” do they mean keep taking these silly tests as a way to find the true meaning of life. Oh and keep reading the ads that pop up before you start taking the test.

Another test identified me as Buddhist because I’m, “clearly looking for inner peace and calm.” (I’m also looking for Reese’s Cups to help keep that sweetness thing going.) And yet another quiz told me, in years, how long I’m going to live.

So, here is what I now know about myself thanks to Facebook, I am a saintly, unbelievably sweet Buddhist Cheetah who is going to live 118 years. That’s a long time. I only hope they are still making Reese’s Cups when I am 118.
