Sarah Frances Cockcroft Sightler, 95, of the Red Oak community, passed away Tues., July 15, 2014, at her residence.

Funeral services will be Thurs., July 17 at 2 p.m. at Red Oak Baptist Church with Bro. Clyde Northrop and Bro. Mark Perry officiating. Interment will follow in Red Oak Cemetery.

Visitation will be today, Wed., July 16, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Foreman Funeral Home.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Shirley R. Sightler of Andalusia; son, Roger R. (Faye) Sightler of Andalusia; daughter, June (Frazier) Jackson of Andalusia; grandchildren, Christopher (Shannon) Jackson, Felicia (Terry) Ganous, Ryan Jackson, Justin (Sarah) Sightler and Cole (Alison) Sightler; great-grandchildren, Will Jackson, Ben Jackson, Jake Jackson, Gray Jackson, Cooper Gooden, Noah Gooden, Shelby Ganous, Jacob Ganous, Lane Ganous and Emma Sightler.

BRYANT SCRUGGS JR.

Bryant “Buddy” Scruggs Jr., 68, a resident of Georgiana, passed away Wed., July 9, 2014. Funeral services were held Sat., July 12, at 10 a.m. at Johnson Funeral Chapel with the Rev Michael Bush officiating. Burial followed in Oakwood Cemetery with Johnson Funeral Home, Georgiana, directing arrangements.

Scruggs is preceded in death by his parents, Bryant and Irene Scruggs; and sisters, Pam Scruggs, Diane Cartwright and Vida Cooper.

He is survived by his wife, Rayleen Scruggs of Georgiana; daughter, Heather (Andre) Kendrick of Georgiana; sons, Terry (Angela) Scruggs of Andalusia and James (Lisa) Scruggs of Red Level; sisters, Juanita (Billy) Atkison of Red Level, Bobbye (Robert) Higdon of Tuscaloosa, Shirley Whittington of Georgiana, Brenda Scruggs of Brewton and Sue Bush of Georgiana; brothers, Jimmy (Rebie) Scruggs of McKenzie, Robert Scruggs of Greenville, Buster (Ernie) Scruggs of Georgiana and Larry (Lisa) Scruggs of Troy; granddaughters, Kelsey Scruggs of Andalusia, Hannah Scruggs of Red Level, Bailey Kendrick and Logan Kendrick, both of Georgiana; grandsons, Brandon Scruggs of Andalusia and Davin Scruggs of Andalusia.

JEANETTE P. ODOM

Jeanette P. Odom, 89, of Andalusia, passed away Fri., July 11, 2014, at Andalusia Regional Hospital.

Funeral services were held Sun., July 13, at 3 p.m. at Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Sharpe and the Rev. Durwood Cleland officiating. Interment followed in Harmony Cemetery. Special music was by Sharon Leonard and Bevery Coon.

Odom is survived by her husband, James L. Odom; son, Kenneth (Starr) Odom of Andalusia; grandchildren, Kris (Tara) Odom, Jamie (Keri) Odom, Jeffrey Odom, Holly Odom (Levi) Nichols; eight great-grandchildren; brother, John D. (Emily) Parsons of Key West, Fla.; and sister, Marjorie (Pat) Rackley of Okeechobe, Fla.

She is preceded in death by her son, James L. Odom Jr.

Pallbearers were Kris Odom, Jamie Odom, Jeffrey Odom, Levi Nichols, Roy Mohon and Jeff Bailey

Linda Faye Mitchell, 63, of Red Level, passed away Sat., July 12, 2014, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held today, Wed., July 16, at 11 a.m. at Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Billy Smithhart officiating. Interment will follow in Fairmount Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at Foreman Funeral Home.

Mitchell is survived by her husband, Wayne Mitchell of Red Level; mother, Allie Armstrong of Andalusia; daughters, Melissa (Tony) Tomlin of Zephyr Hills, Fla., Nancy (Frankie) Dubose of Red Level and Jessica (Robert) McCloskey of Red Level; sons, Gary (Lisa) Musgrove of Red Level, Wade (Claudia) Mitchell of Red Level, Ricky Curtis of Seguin, Texas, Donnie Price of Red Level and Nathan Mitchell of Red Level; sister, Peggy (Terry) Harrelson of Red Level; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
