The Mobile Rawdogs only allowed two runs in double elimination play and went on to beat Greater Fairfax, Va. 7-0 to win the 2014 Babe Ruth 16-18 Southeast Regional Tournament on Sunday afternoon at LBWCC’s Crum Foshee Field.

The team representing the Gulf Coast region defeated Lewisburg, Tenn. 10-0 and Lumber River, N.C. (East) 8-2 on Saturday to earn a spot in the championship.

The Virginia team defeated Lewisburg 9-1 and Lumber River 7-5 in the bottom bracket to advance to the title game.

Mobile scored one run each in the second and third innings, and added two runs in the fifth and three runs in the sixth to pull away.

The Rawdogs advance to their second-straight Babe Ruth World Series and look to repeat as champions.

The World Series will start on Aug. 6, in Ephrata, Wash.
