LETTER: Support, don’t bash our community

Dear editor,

My comment to people who like to get on a soapbox and badmouth Covington County, the mayor or anyone associated with the airport and its facilities. I live within seeing distance of the airport. I remember when it was nothing. Over the last 20 years it has steadily grown.

The economy is bad. Companies are downsizing everywhere, not just here. I believe we have leaders that will overcome t his. We can’t look to the past, but must dwell on the future. If you never take a chance, you stand still and never grow. Earl Johnson never stands still, thank goodness.

Some of you are not old enough to remember that at one time, the Box Factory, Southeast Alabama Gas and Alatex were the largest industries here.

Don’t make this a political issue. Get behind our leaders. Tell the good things that happen here. Help promote Covington County, not give a negative view of it.
