Strike a funny pose, I’ll be sure to snap it

More often than not, football players will do just about anything to get their pictures taken.

During a hot and what seemed like a long morning during Opp’s picture day last month, I was walking around trying to get the pictures I needed for the football magazine.

Then, all of a sudden, I was asked to take a couple players’ pictures as they struck a fun pose. Then another picture opportunity came along that was pretty funny.

These particular Bobcats decided to all get together and be creative on their pose for the camera.

Even Andalusia players requested a photo at their picture day and that was cool, too.

I think it’s pretty awesome to have some fun every once in a while, but when it comes to getting back to work, you get to work.

New OHS head football coach Brent Hill said as much during the coaches media days last month when he noted how hard the players have been working.

“The boys are working hard,” Hill said. “We’re getting after it in the weight room, and they’re learning a lot of new schemes.”

Fast forward to last Saturday when Opp had its “Meet the Bobcats” event at the school gymnasium.

Right before the event started, I was again cat-called to take a picture of the football players. They were all standing in a line and this same group of players decided to fan out to their left for another fun picture.

Those who missed it, the picture was published in the Tues., Aug. 19 edition of our paper.

I’ll say this, and I don’t mind doing so, but this is a different Bobcats football team. It looks like they’re having a lot of fun, and are getting some work done in the process.

I say that, but am sure that there are plenty of other football players on our local teams who are having fun and getting work done as well.

If you see me and want a quick and fun picture taken, give me a holler and I’ll turn around and get a snap shot, or feel free to share your candid shots with me this season.
