They call him the peach man.

Eugene Mims, 85, who lives 5 miles east of Clanton, along with his son, Barney, were on the court square Tuesday afternoon selling peaches from Chilton County.

Mims has been in the peach business for around 65 years, and has sold his delectable fruits in Andalusia for quite some time when he makes a stop here.

“Dad always comes down here,” Barney said. “He’s been peddling for 60 years.”

The Mimes said customers in Andalusia have been good to them.

By late afternoon, the truck load they came with was about gone.
