BETTY SUE SMITH

Mrs. Betty Sue Smith, age 92, of Red Level, passed away Tues., Aug. 26, 2014, quietly at her home after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Funeral services for Mrs. Smith will be held on Sat., Aug. 30, 2014, at 3 p.m. from Foreman Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Aaron officiating. Interment will follow in Fairmount Cemetery.

Mrs. Smith, born Betty Sue Everett in Frankville, came to Red Level in 1941, where she taught 34 years at Red Level School. She was the wife of the late Wilbur S. Smith of Red Level.

She is survived by her daughter, Yvonne Jackson of Pace, Fla.; one granddaughter, Sylvia Ifft of Cottondale, Fla.; one great grandson, Garrett Ifft, also of Cottondale; and her sister, Louise Everett Purnell of Chipley, Fla.

Visitation will be Saturday morning from 9-11 at Foreman Funeral Home.

MARION PRESTON CREEL

Mr. Marion Preston Creel, age 103, of Andalusia passed away Tues., August 26, 2014, at Luverne Health and Rehab.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. tomorrow, Fri., August 29, 2014, at the Keahey Funeral Home chapel.

Interment will follow in the Antioch Congregational Church cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today, Thurs., Aug. 28, at the Keahey Funeral Home Chapel.

Survivors include: sons, Charles (Evelyn) Creel and Cecil Creel; grandchildren, Paul (Sally) Creel, David (Peggy) Creel, John (Libby) Creel, Susie (Rob) Carter, Trisha Creel, Shawna Creel and Sharon Shirley; great grandchildren, Heather (Scott) Fricker, Austin (Haley) Creel, Kelly (Matt) Griffith, Cory Knight, Isaiah Knight, Jordae Jones, Ethan Griffin and Chelsea Carter; great-great grandchildren, Shelby Little, Katlyn Fricker, Addison Griffith and Avery Griffith; adopted daughter, Mary Harwell; five step-great-grandchildren; and 10 step-great-great grandchildren.

Mr. Creel was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtie Creel, and daughter-in-law, Nelda Creel.
