Andalusia swept Opp in varsity and junior varsity volleyball action earlier tonight.

The Lady Bulldogs won their best-of-three contest 25-16, 25-17, while the JV girls won 25-15, 19-25, 15-4.

In other action at the tri-match at AHS, Opp Middle School won over Pleasant Home’s Lady Eagles 25-22, 25-17; and AMS topped OMS 25-22, 17-25, 15-4.

Straughn beat the Lady Yellow Jackets of Ashford 25-19, 25-12, 25-6 in Class 4A, Area 2 action in the town near Dothan.

Katelyn Kinsaul led the Lady Tigers with nine aces and five assists. Jacie Williamson added nine kills and three aces; Hannah Lawless and Dee Gantt had three kills each.

In JV action, the Lady Tigers won 25-19, 25-20.

SHS improves to 2-0 overall, and 1-0 in area play.

The Lady Tigers host Brantley on Thursday in regular-season action.

Florala beat Red Level in regular-season JV and varsity action, as well.

FHS claimed a 25-10, 25-9 victory in JV play, and a 25-11, 25-18, 25-10 win in varsity play.
