Former University of Alabama football player Johnny Dyess of Elba will share his story of addiction recovery at the third annual recovery rally, set for 5 p.m. on Sat., Sept. 27, at Westview Baptist Church in Opp.

The event will be followed by a traditional tailgate meal.

Recovery month spreads the positive message that behavioral health is essential to overall health, prevention works, treatment is effective and people can and do recover.

The rally is sponsored by South Central Alabama Mental Health, the Covington County District Attorney’s Office, and Covington County Children’s Policy Council.
