Straughn stays at No. 6 in poll

Straughn remains ranked at No. 6 in Class 4A after the Alabama Sports Writers Association released its most recent poll on Tuesday.

The Tigers defeated Trinity Presbyterian 46-31 to improve to 3-1 on the season.

SHS picks up in action this week against now Class 5A No. 10 Beauregard in regular season action.

St. James, who was ranked at No. 9 last week, bumped up to No. 8 after a 21-7 win over Andalusia.

Leeds (5-0), UMS-Wright (4-0), Saks (4-0), Thomasville (5-0) and Jacksonville (5-0) round out the top five in 4A. Oneonta and Haleyville are No. 9 and 10, respectively. Fayette County is No. 7.

Florala received one vote, but wasn’t ranked in Class 1A.
