Opp sophomore quarterback Orlando Lacey went 6-of-10 for 249 yards and four touchdowns in the air to help lead the Bobcats to a whopping 61-24 region victory over Excel on Friday night.

Lacey threw TD passes of 65, 49, 15 and 82 yards.

“We kind of felt like, especially after last week’s game against T.R. Miller, that we wanted to improve in our passing game,” OHS head football coach Brent Hill said. “We counted on them to load the box, and we started clicking in passing. When they (EHS) adjusted, we ran it. It was a cat and mouse strategy from there.”

Raheem Bonham led OHS with 87 yards on seven carries and a touchdown. Reggie Thompson had five carries for 68 yards.

Cale Pierce had two receptions for 131 yards and two scores, and Greg House had four receptions for 118 yards and a TD.

Defensively, the Bobcats were led by Ty White with 11 tackles and Gunner Wise, who had 10.

Chris Morrow had two sacks for a loss of 16 yards. Darien Hinton had an interception, and Dewayne Bonam had one sack for a loss of 14 yards.

With this win, the Bobcats improve to 5-2 overall, and 4-0 in Class 3A, Region 1. OHS clinched a playoff berth with the win as well.

“We bounced back after another emotional victory,” Hill said. “I’m proud of where we’re headed.”
