DOROTHY G. PITMAN LANCASTER

Mrs. Dorothy G. Pitman Lancaster, 98, of Andalusia, died on Tues., Oct. 21, 2014, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held on Thurs., Oct. 23, at 10 am. from the First United Methodist Church of Andalusia with the Rev. Tim Trent officiating. Interment will be at 3 p.m. from the Pine Crest Cemetery in Mobile.

The family will receive friends in the vestibule of the First United Methodist Church at 9 a.m. Thursday.

Mrs. Lancaster was born July 8, 1916, in Geneva County. She was a long time resident of Chickasaw and lived in Andalusia for the part 18 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church for over 73 years, was a lifetime member of the UMW and a member of the Mae Maddox Sunday School Class.

Survivors include two daughters, Ruby P. Roberts (John) of Andalusia and Madge Goodson of Zellwood, Fla.; four grandchildren, Richard Goodson (Carmen), Christopher Goodson (Tracie), Thomas C. Roberts (Brenda) and Benjamin Roberts (Jennifer); six great-grandchildren, Austin Goodson, Abbi Roberts, Gibb Roberts, Luke Roberts, Isaac Roberts and Nate Roberts; two brothers, Michael Jones of Frisco City and Edmond “Polly” Jones and wife Freddie of Satsuma; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be ben Roberts, John Roberts, Tom Roberts, Chris Goodson, Warren Brown and Jerome Mallory.

Music will be by Louisa Baker and John Beasley.

The family requests that memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church or to the charity of ones choice.

ADONIS MATHEWS GRAY

Adonis Mathews Gray, age 64, of Rose Hill, passed away peacefully on Mon., Oct. 20, 2014, at her home in Leeds. Her life was a beautiful song that remains in the hearts of all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Clifton and Maggie Lee Mathews; and husband, Jimmy Leon Gray. She is survived by her two daughters, Tonya Leah Crutchfield and Maggie Lee Gray; son, Brian Matthew Goodson; two granddaughters, Lea Danielle and Sarah Christine Crutchfield; and grandson, Henry Lee Goodson.

Funeral services will be held today, Wed., Oct. 22, at 11 a.m. at Kilgroe Funeral Home in Leeds.

MARLETTE BATES NOLEN

Mrs. Marlette Bates Nolen, 86, of Andalusia, passed away Sat., Oct. 18, 2014, at Andalusia Manor.

A funeral service was held Tues., Oct. 21 at 10 a.m., from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Alan Joyner officiating.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Demond and Jenelle Nolen and Andy and Sue Nolen both of Red Level; two grandsons, Greg (Norma) Nolen and Kyle (Ashley) Nolen both of Red Level; five great-grandchildren, Cale Nolen, Troy Nolen, Jonathon Nolen, Carlie Nolen and Charlie Nolen; and two great-great-grandchildren, Carson Nolen and Easton Parker.

Pallbearers were Tony Nolen, Don Owens, Jim Hogg, Tony Holley, Dennis Bond and Bill Sellers.

Mrs. Betty Joy Hess Benton, 74, of Andalusia, passed away Fri., Oct. 17, 2014, at her residence.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Sat., Oct. 25 at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church with Bro. Drexal Copeland officiating.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Nancy Hess of Palm Bay, Fla., Glenn Hess of North Carolina, Randall and Tracey Hess of Colorado Springs, Colo.; three grandchildren; her sisters, Jeanette Bozeman of Andalusia, Myra Sivley of Hartselle, Fairstine Odom of Dozier; and two brothers, Ray Clark and Lawrence Clark, both of Montgomery.

Mrs. Clara Morgan Martin, 82, of Andalusia, passed away Fri., Oct. 17, 2014, at her residence.

A funeral service was held Mon., Oct. 20, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Jo Ann and Joe Kiser of Mountainbrook and Dorothy and Tommy Thompson of Andalusia; her stepson and daughter-in-law, Harold and Cindy Martin of Creola; three grandchildren, David Wadlington, Brian Wadlington and Clarisa Nixon; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Bobby and Vicky Morgan of Opp, Cecil and Thelma Morgan of Andalusia and Ronald and Doris Morgan of Andalusia; and one sister and brother-in-law, Betty Sue and Wayne Sasser of Opp.

Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her husbands, Clint Curry and Roy Martin; and sons, Jerry and Michael Curry.
