JOHN T. “JOHNNY” BASS JR.

Mr. John T. ‘Johnny” Bass Jr., 62, of Andalusia, died on Thurs., Oct. 30, 2014, at his residence.

Memorial services for Mr. Bass will be announced at a later date.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Freida Rabren Bass of Andalusia; a daughter, Alanna Moore of Andalusia; his father, John T. Bass Sr. of Andalusia; three sisters, Jackie Bass and Jan Bass, both of Andalusia, and Judy (Rick) Casey of Chipley, Fla.; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

BURIE G. PARRISH JR.

Mr. Burie G. Parrish Jr., 87, of Andalusia, died Wed., Oct. 29, 2014, at Andalusia Manor.

A funeral service for Mr. Parrish will be held on Mon., Nov. 3, at 2 p.m., at Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Billy Boles and Bro. Harold Morris officiating. Interment will follow in Adellum Cemetery. Visitation will be one-hour prior to services at Foreman Funeral Home.

Mr. Parrish is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Annie Parrish of Saudi Arabia; three daughters and sons-in-law, Charlotte and Perry Chambley of Ellerslie, Ga., Gail and Max Smith and Lynn and Ronnie Capps, all of Andalusia; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Cecil and Marzelle Parrish of Andalusia and James and Mildred Parrish of Opp.

He was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Mary Bass and Bill Portwood; and brother and sister-in-law, Donahue and Helen Parrish.

HUBERT J. HUTTO

Mr. Hubert J. Hutto, 82, passed away Wed., Oct. 29, 2014, at Andalusia Regional Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Sat., Nov. 1, at Keahey Funeral Home with Bro. Carl Parker and Bro. Mike Medley officiating. A eulogy will be given by Mr. Hutto’s grandson, Shannon Hutto. Interment will follow in the Stone Lake Gardens cemetery with military honors, and Keahey Funeral Home directing.

Family will receive friends today from 5-7 p.m., in the Keahey Funeral Home chapel.

Survivors include his wife, Alvie Hutto of Andalusia; sons, Tommy (Rebecca) Hutto of Sanford, Bobby (Michelle) Hutto of Andalusia, Robert (Regina) Hutto of Mobile and Kenny (Pamela) Hutto Sr. of New York; daughters, Gail (Glenn) Worley of Andalusia, Barbara (Chad) Hupman of Missouri; 19 grandchildren; and 38 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Hutto was preceded in death by his father, Doc Hutto, his mother, Effie Lawson, siblings and a grandson.

Pallbearers will be Doug Hutto, Jason Hutto, Curtis Hutto, Hunter Worley, Shannon Hutto and Kenneth Hutto Jr.

 

SHERRY BYRD BRYSON

Mrs. Sherry Byrd Bryson, 67, formerly of Andalusia, died Tues., Oct. 28, 2014, at her residence in Madison.

A graveside service for Mrs. Bryson will be held today at noon in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be one-hour prior to services at Foreman Funeral Home.

Mrs. Bryson is survived by her husband, Ralph Bryson; sons and daughters-in-law, Tim and Shelley Bryson of Harvest and Mike and Cecily Bryson of Durango, Colo.; daughter and son-in-law, Christie and Todd Morman of Mt. Laurel; grandchildren, Morgan Bryson, Rylee Bryson, Bryson Morman, Beckett Morman and Boden Bryson; sister, Ann Anderson of Foley; brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Delores Byrd of Andalusia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

REX LEE BRYANT

Mr. Rex Lee Bryant, 60, formerly of Andalusia, passed away with family by his side on Sat., Oct. 11, 2014.

Rex was a graduate of Straughn High School. After serving in the United States Army and traveling around the world, he retired from Special Forces and was an advocate for the Disabled American Veterans. Rex lived with his wife, Ret. Lt. Colonel Marisa Q. Bryant at Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas.

Memorial services will be held at Foreman’s Funeral Home, Sat., Nov. 1, at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel. The Rev. Horace L. Franklin will be officiating. Visitation will be 30 minutes prior to the service.

Rex is survived by his wife, Marisa; mother, Ruth Franklin; sisters, Margo (Mark) Anderson and Gina (Terry) Bradley; brother, Steven A. Bryant; sons, Christopher Lee Bryant and Joshua Cody Bryant; three grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. Rex was preceded in death by his father, Rex L. Bryant Sr., and brother, Marty Stephens.

From the dirt roads of Rose Hill to countries around the world, Rex touched the lives of many people as a Christian, as a husband, as a father, as a son, as a brother, as an uncle, as a cousin, as a friend, as a soldier, as a hero, as a giver, as a fighter, as an advocate and as an Alabama fan. He was a true son of the south. No more pain, no more fight. Rex has gone home.
