Pleasant Home Lady Eagles finish with win

The Pleasant Home Lady Eagles defeated the Elba Lady Tigers 51-38 Wednesday morning in Straughn.

The Lady Eagles ran out to a 15-5 lead after the first period. Jade Self had 13 points in the first period.

In the second period, the Lady Tigers started hitting 3-point shots that kept the game close, but the Lady Eagles capitalized on turnovers to take a 24-19 lead at the half.

The Lady Eagles, in the third period, played lock-down defense, and were lights out shooting the ball. The Lady Eagles increased their lead to 42-26.

Both teams kept playing well into the fourth period, but the Lady Eagles lead held up, and they went on to win 51-38.

Self led that Lady Eagles with 27 points in the contest. River Baldwin added 12 points, 12 rebounds and six blocks.

“Considering everything, we played well and I’m proud of them for that,” Lady Eagles’ head coach Jerry Davis said. “This was our sixth game in nine days, so we haven’t had a chance to practice much to put in different things.”
