The Andalusia Lady Bulldogs dropped their home opener 48-20 to the Luverne Lady Tigers Tuesday night.

The Lady Tigers jumped out front 15-5 after the first period. The Lady Bulldogs struggled to get off any open shots, and the Lady Tigers were quick getting up-and-down the court.

By half time the Lady Tigers held a comfortable 33-7 lead. The Lady Tigers quickness and agility proved too much for the Lady Bulldogs.

After the third period it was still all Lady Tigers, as they held a 41-12 advantage. The Lady Bulldogs offense begin to show improvement in the second half, but the deficit for the first half was far to much to overcome.

In the fourth the Lady Bulldogs put together their best scoring effort, but it was too little too late. The Lady Tigers held on for a 48-20 victory.

Alexis Lawrence led the Lady Bulldogs with 7 points.

Brittany Redmon was leading scorer for the Lady Tigers with 17 points.

“We have to work and see if we can get better,” Lady Bulldogs head coach Brad Garner said. “There were lots of things we didn’t do well, and we have got to keep plugging away and working at it.”
