Fantasy Corner

With the fantasy football playoffs fast approaching you might be looking for a little help on the waiver wire to increase your chances in the playoffs, or you may need a player who could help you this week for a chance to make the playoffs. Either way here are a few guys that might be available in your league.

Kenny Stills of the New Orleans Saints has seen in production increase since Brandon Cooks went down with a thumb injury. Stills has caught 13 or 15 targets in his last two games. In week 13 Stills had five catches for 162 yards and a touchdown. Stills has become a more complete receiver in his second year in the league.

Jordan Reed of the Washington Redskins has been the go-to-guy for Colt McCoy, and racked up a career-high nine catches for 123 yards this past week. If Reed stays healthy he can be a top-10 fantasy tight end the rest of the way.

Jonathan Stewart of the Carolina Panthers would be an interesting play this week if DeAngelo Williams does in fact have a broken hand. The Panthers will face the New Orleans Saints in week 14, and the Saints have allowed opposing running backs to run wild.

Stedman Bailey of the St. Louis Rams has 12 catches and a touchdown over the past two weeks. With Shaun Hill at quarterback, Bailey has emerged into fantasy relevance, and should continue to do so down the stretch.

Marqise Lee of Jacksonville Jaguars has nine catches on 13 targets in his two games since returning from an injury. Last week Lee racked up six catches for 75 yards and a touchdown. Jaguars rookie quarterback Blake Brotles has taken a liking a to fellow rookie Lee. With Allen Robinson out for the year, and neither Cecil Shorts III or Allen Hurns have stepped up to fill the role it would appear that Lee is the best option out the Jags trio of wide recievers.

If you are desperate at quarterback Cleveland Browns’ Johnny Manziel looked competent enough to complete passes, and make plays with his feet. It was all garbage time Johnny “Football”, but the Browns face the Colts in week 14, who made Colt McCoy look like a statistical superstar last week. It wouldn’t be a promising option, as you would simply be hoping to catch lighting in a bottle. However, if you have been streaming quarterbacks, and find yourself desperate, there are worse options than Manziel if he plays.
