Opp Police identified a women fatality injured in a Monday evening two-vehicle collision.

Amelia Logan, 50, of Samson, died as a result of injuries sustained in a traffic accident that occurred at around 6:30 p.m. Monday, near the intersection of County Road 91 and Bryant Circle, according to Opp Police Chief Mike McDonald.

Logan’s 2000 Ford Explorer that was headed southbound on County Road 91, and a 2005 GMC Yukon exited Bryant Circle and was northbound on County Road 91 when the crash occurred.

Both vehicles sustained heavy front-end damage, McDonald said.

The occupants of the Yukon, a 41-year-old female Opp resident and a juvenile Opp resident, were transported by ground ambulance to Mizell Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
