Mizell Memorial Wellness Center will offer then Ifant Swimming Resource (ISR) lessons, beginning in January.

Dr. Harvey Barnett, who developed the first and only drowning prevention strategy, founded ISR 1966.

ISR provides survival swimming lessons for babies and toddlers from 6 months to 6 years of age that provide one-on-one training to children by certified instructors. Certified instructors are required to complete a seven-week intensive training and certification program to instruct ISR.

ISR instructors focus on teaching the child to roll onto his back to float, rest and breathe, and to be able to maintain this life-saving position until help arrives.

For information, contact the Mizell Wellness Center at 334-493-1730 or Sarah Tuttle, ISR instructor at 334-406-0856 or s.tuttle@infantswim.com.
