An allegedly drunk woman, who was caught stealing from Grocery Outlet in Opp, took a bite out of an Opp Police officer Wednesday.

Opp Police Officer Josh Hudson was called to the Grocery Outlet when employees found a drunken woman shoplifting, according to Assistant Chief Kevin Chance.

During the arrest, an intoxicated Catrina Coon, 38, of Opp, resisted arrest and bit Hudson on his right forearm.

“She broke the skin,” Chance said.

Hudson was treated at Mizell Memorial Hospital, as a precautionary measure.

Coon was charged with theft of property III, resisting arrest, public intoxication and second-degree assault, and held at the Covington County Jail on a $68,000 bond.
