The Andalusia Lady Bulldogs were no match for the top-ranked Brantley Lady Bulldogs. Brantley defeated Andalusia 62-27 Friday afternoon in the Red Level Christmas tournament.

 

Brantley came out with a solid shooting performance and a stifling defense. Brantley was on top 19-4 at the end of the first. Sequaya Lane was on fire for Brantley, scoring 8 points in the first. Alexis Lawrence had all 4 of Andalusia’s points in the first.

 

Andalusia got some offense going in the second, and had 14 points in the period. Alexis Lawrence had 6 points for Andalusia. Keyosha Comer also had 6 points for Andalusia in the second. Lane accounted for 9 points, and went 1-for-2 from the free throw line. At halftime, Brantley was in control 35-18.

 

Brantley’s defense locked down Andalusia in the third period allowing only 2 points. The score was 50-20 at the end of the third. Alexis Lawrence had Andalusia’s only points in the period. Sydnee Brown had 6 points for Brantley.

 

With a 30-point lead in the fourth there was a running clock, and Andalusia couldn’t overcome Brantley’s athletic defense. Aaliyeh Lawrence had 5 points for Andalusia, including a 3-pointer. Kassidy Wilcox had a pair of 3-pointers, and totaled 6 points in the fourth period for Brantley.

 

Brantley’s leading scorer was Payton Burnett with 20 points, and Lane finished with 17 points.

 

Andalusia was led by Alexis Lawrence with 12 points, and Aaliyeh Lawrence accounted for 7 points.
