Wildcats fall to Gators

The Florala Wildcats are still searching for their first win of the season after falling to the Baker Gators 76-16 Saturday in the Alabama/Florida Shootout in Pleasant Home.

 

The Gators were on fire in the first period, and were up 28-2 by the end of the first. Terrell Reed was on fire from the floor with 15 points in the first, including three 3-pointers. Ray Hall had the Wildcats’ lone basket in the first period.

 

The Gators continued to beat up on the Wildcats in the second, and held a 45-6 lead at halftime. Hall added 3 more points to his total.

 

The second half wasn’t any kinder to the Wildcats, and they were down 63-14 by the end of the third. Hall had his best period of the game with 6 points. The Wildcats continued to give it all they had, but they just weren’t able to keep pace with the speedy Gators.

 

It wasn’t the Wildcats day, and at the end of the fourth the Gators had a 76-16 victory. Hall had 2 points in the final period.

 

Hall led the Wildcats with 13 points.

 

The Wildcats open up area play today when they travel to Brantley to take on the Bulldogs.
