The T.R. Miller Lady Tigers beat the Opp Lady Bobcats 50-16 Tuesday night in Opp.

 

The Lady Tigers took a 12-4 lead at the end of the first period. Ariyon Hightower hit 2-of-4 from the free-throw line, and Ratiya Peacock also added 2 points for the Lady Bobcats. Morgan Longmire had 7 points for the Lady Tigers.

 

The Lady Tigers stretched their lead out to 26-10 by halftime. Margaret Ruzic had 4 points for the Lady Tigers in the second period, and Mekhia Williams had 5 points. Anna Harrelson had 4 points for the Bobcats, and Peacock added 2 more points by going 2-for-2 from the free-throw line.

 

The Lady Bobcats fell further behind in the third period, and trailed by 30 points heading into the final stanza. Dallas Smith had the lone basket for the Lady Bobcats in the third period. Williams had 6 points to help give the Lady Tigers a 42-12 lead.

 

The high-pressure defense from the Lady Tigers was too much for the Bobcats to overcome, and by the time the final buzzer sounded the Lady Tigers walked away with a 50-16 victory. Abby Cox had all four of the Lady Bobcats’ fourth period points.

 

Cox, Peacock and Harrelson were the Lady Bobcats’ top scorers with 4 points each.

 

The Lady Bobcats will be back in action Sat., Jan. 10th, when they host the Straughn Lady Tigers
