The Straughn Tigers held off the Opp Bobcats 52-44 to complete their second sweep of county opponents in back-to-back nights.

 

The Tigers came out of the gate firing on all cylinders, and held a 15-9 lead after the first period. Raheem Bonam led the Bobcats in the first with 3 points. Hennis Washington, Dewayne Bonam and Chris Morrow had 2 points each for the Bobcats. Jordan Walker and Brice Scott had 4 points each for the Tigers. Rollin Kinsaul chipped in 3 points for the Tigers.

 

The Tigers stayed hot in the second period, and took a 32-22 lead into halftime. Morrow kept the Bobcats within in striking distance with a 7-point second period. Washington put in 4 points for the Bobcats. Jarvaris Samuel found his stroke in the second, and dropped 7 points for the Tigers. Scott added another 5 points to the Tigers total, and Austin Bozeman went 5-for-6 from the free-throw line to extend the Tigers lead.

 

The Bobcats struck back in the third period, and only trailed 41-36 heading into the final frame. D. Bonam led the way for the Bobcats with 5 points in the third period. Marshall Farley kept the Tigers out front by busting two 3-pointers in the third period.

 

The Tigers got another strong period from Farley and Bozeman to push the Tigers to a 52-44 victory over the Bobcats. Farley and Bozeman had 5 points each in the final period. Morrow led the Bobcats with 5 points in the final stanza.

 

Morrow led the scoring for the Bobcats with 16 points. R. Bonam and D. Bonam each finished the contest with 7 points.

 

Samuel and Bozeman led the Tigers with 12 points each, and Farley chipped in 11 points in the contest.
