Area play in full swing

Local high school basketball is in full swing and the teams are focused on the very crucial area games that they will face the next few weeks.

 

Currently in 4A, the Straughn Lady Tigers are sitting atop area 2 with a perfect 3-0 record.

 

For area 2 in the 4A boys the Straughn Tigers and Andalusia Bulldogs are tied for first place at 2-1. The Tigers hold the head-to-head tiebreaker currently after beating the Bulldogs this past week. The Tigers have area contest with Ashford, Headland and Andalusia. Andalusia has Ashford, Headland and Straughn left.

 

In 1A basketball, the Pleasant Home Lady Eagles are currently second in area 2 with a 2-1 area record. The Lady Eagles are currently 13-4 overall. The Florala Lady Wildcats are third in the area with a 1-2 record. The Eagles’ remaining area contests are against Brantley, Florala and Kinston. Florala’s remaining area schedule pits them against Kinston, Pleasant Home and Brantley.

 

In 1A area 2 boys basketball, the Eagles sit in second place at 2-1. Brantley is currently leading the area. Kinston is in third place at 1-2, and Florala currently sits in fourth at 0-3.

 

In 1A area 3, both Red Level teams are currently in third place with 1-2 area records. Red Level has Mckenzie, Georgiana and J.F. Shields remaining in area play.

 

In 3A area 2, both Opp teams are currently in fourth place, and searching for their first area wins. Opp’s remaining area opponents are Hillcrest and T.R. Miller.
