The Red Level Tigers B-team defeated the McKenzie Tigers 27-7 Thursday night in Red Level.

It was a slow start for both squads, but after one period of play Red Level led 4-3. Billy Wright and Cole Mancill had 2 points each for Red Level in the opening period.

Both teams continued the sluggish start, and Red Level was up 8-5 at halftime. Logan Thompson had all 4 of Red Level’s second period points.

In the third period, Red Level came out strong, and seemingly sank every shot that they attempted. Wright had 6 points for Red Level. Ramsey Morrow knocked down 4 points. Kade Green connected from 3-point land, and Jacob Catrett had 2 points in the period for Red Level. Heading into the final period, Red Level led 25-7.

The defense remained solid for Red Level in the final period, and didn’t allow McKenzie a single point. Mancill had Red Level’s lone basket in the period, but with a big lead Red Level didn’t need to score, all they needed to do was run the clock. When the final buzzer sounded the host Tigers claimed a 27-5 victory.

Wright led Red Level with 8 points, and Thompson added 6 points.

“This was probably the first time this season that our B-team has controlled a game from start to finish,” Red Level head coach Allen Catrett said. “We did a good job tonight. We did a better job making shots, and not turning the ball over.”
